About the book

Steve and Katherine Wiltshire are a suburban couple with no ties and enjoy a busy social life. Steve works for a company manufacturing portable buildings and Katherine works at the local branch of an international bank. They seldom discuss or worry about the future until Steve accepts an offer from his company to go for an eight-week technical and training assignment to Guatemala.

Katherine insists on visiting him whilst he is away but their plans are dramatically changed after a couple of weeks of Katherine’s visit when she is mistakenly abducted by a group of rebel fighters set on overthrowing the Guatemalan government.

Katherine’s journey, in an attempt to return to a normal life, takes many twists and dramatic turns before she can finally step out from beyond the shadows that have haunted her and Steve since their ordeal began.

A story of love, despair, revolution and ultimate hurt is played out in the lush green jungles of Guatemala and the concrete jungles of London.

Fate will lead one into the darkest of shadows whilst fate will lead the other out of the shadows and into the sunlight… beyond the shadows.
