About the Author

Mark Leaghland (pen name of Graham Kendall) originally comes from Harrow, North London. Now retired and living near Javea, on the Costa Blanca, Graham spent many years travelling in his job and at the last count had visited 127 countries involving over 870 flights. He has lived and worked all over the World including Africa, Asia, China and the West Indies.

At various times Graham and Barbara, his wife of 45 years, have resided in Germany, Jamaica, Barbados, Saudi Arabia (twice), the USA, Spain and are now again in the UK

Having started his life as a Police Cadet, he eventually went into Sales and Marketing and spent thirty-five years involved with Storage and Materials-handling, finally becoming Managing Director of a Swiss based storage company in Milton Keynes.

Graham and Barbara have two married children: Deborah, now in her forties, who in turn has two young children, Charlotte and Ben; plus David, now in his late thirties who has two young children Harry and Hughie.

During the eighties Graham had two books of poetry published and in 1997 he had his first novel published Almost Scarlet (ISBN 1-8575-6289-5) using his pen name Mark Leaghland.

His second novel, Road to the Aisle (ISBN 1-4120-4071-X) was published in 2004. followed by Lava of the Gods (ISBN 1-905597-01-0) in 2005.

His latest book is Beyond the Shadows (ISBN 978-1-905597-08-6) which was launched in April 2007.

Generally, in between glasses of wine, bouts of sunshine and enjoying the food on the Costa-Blanca, Graham can be found scribbling away. He is currently working on twelve others manuscripts that he has started, so he dreams, that one day he will be recognised as a "a writer".

He now divides his time between Kent and the South of Spain where he is putting the finishing touches to his latest novel.
